Vaccinate against tetanus and diphtheria can be done more rarely
Experts told what might kill modern people
The World Health Organization (WHO) has compiled a list of the most significant factors threatening humanity, "Meduza" reports. The list has 10 global threats. For the first time a deliberate vaccine refusal has been included in the list.
According to WHO experts, the continuation of this trend threatens the long-term success in vaccine fighting epidemics. For example, the increased measles incidence is due to refusal to vaccinate in most cases. Nowadays, vaccination prevents 2-3 million premature deaths every year.
The experts also talk about the danger of air pollution, a new possible influenza pandemic, the emergence of new antibiotic-resistant infections and weak health care system in developing countries.
