Tick-borne encephalitis vaccine

For today, TicoVac is the only vaccine that reduces the risk of tick-borne encephalitis in people traveling to endemic areas. This vaccine is used to protect US military personnel who are on active duty in certain countries. (The tick-borne encephalitis virus is spread in more than 35 countries in Asia and Eastern Europe.)

Pfizer received approval after many years of cooperation with the US Army. TicoVac vaccine has been designed on the basis of an inactivated virus. At the moment, the estimates of its effectiveness range from 96% to 99%. Given Pfizer's tremendous success in the covid vaccine market, TicoVac won't really matter to them.
