The head of Pfizer has announced when Omicron vaccine will be ready
This vaccine will also be directed at other strains.
Pfizer will prepare Omicron vaccine this spring.
This announcement has been made by Pfizer CEO Albert Burla, CNBCreports.
"This vaccine will be ready in March. We are starting to produce a certain amount of it at our own risk" - said Burla and added that this vaccine will also be directed at other strains.
However, Burla noted that it is still not clear whether a vaccine against "Omicron" is needed or how it will be used. Despite of this, Pfizer will have ready-made doses, since some countries want the drug to be ready as soon as possible.
He also noted that it is not clear whether a fourth dose is needed, so Pfizer will carried out experiments to solve this issue.
According to UNIAN, earlier in the USA the use of booster doses of the coronavirus vaccinesmade by Pfizer and BioNTech was allowed for teenagers aged 12 to 15 years and for children aged5 to 11 years with weakened immunity.
