Experts have changed their attitude to vaccinations of pregnant women
American scientists from the US Centers for Control and Prevention of Diseases call on pregnant women not to be afraid of immunization and to become more actively vaccinated against the flu. Also, the experts suggest the introduction of adsorbed DTP vaccine, "Remedium" reports.
According to the scientists, vaccinations are not dangerous for children. The study of medical cards of 400,000 children born between 2004 and 2014 proves this claim. The experts did not identify any significant statistical differences, in terms of the risk of hospitalization or death within six months after birth, among children whose mothers had or had not been vaccinated against influenza and vaccinated with DTP vaccine during the pregnancy.
The experts emphasize that pregnant women need to remember that vaccination against influenza and DTP vaccine can save their lives. The matter is that among pregnant women the risk of a fatal outcome caused by the flu and development of virus infection complications are five times higher.
