A small tablet can replace a whole diagnostic lab.

Melbourne Royal Institute of Technology has created a unique capsule. The capsule should be swallowed to obtain a complete analysis of the gases concentration in the body. The capsule catches oxygen, hydrogen and carbon dioxide present in the human intestine, and analysis the composition of the intestinal microflora, Zee News reports.

This is a powerful diagnostic device that can tell about the effects of diet or medical drugs. The capsule is absolutely safe. It has an impermeable polyethylene coat, inside of which are hidden sensors operating under aerobic and anaerobic conditions, a temperature sensor, a microcontroller, a transmitter and batteries.

The capsule clinical trials have shown that oxygen is actively released in the stomach and its concentration in the intestine reduces afterwards. The capsule accurately transmitted this information wirelessly to a mobile phone every five minutes.
